Justin Bieber achieved a new milestone at the American Music Awards ceremony by clinching the best male pop artist award for the fifth time. The Canadian-born artist had previously won the award four times, initially triumphing in 2010 when it was known as favorite pop/rock male artist.
Arriving at this year’s event with four nominations, including artist of the year and album of the year for his album “Swag,” Bieber added to his impressive collection of accolades. This latest victory brings his total American Music Awards count to 19, placing him in a tie with the late Kenny Rogers for the second-most wins by a male artist. Michael Jackson holds the top spot among male artists with 24 awards.
In a notable return to the stage, Bieber headlined Coachella last month, marking his first major performance since cancelling a tour in 2022 due to health issues related to Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
Among the other key winners at the ceremony were BTS, who secured the artist of the year title, and Sabrina Carpenter, who emerged victorious in the album of the year category.
