Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand highlighted Canada’s increased commitment to defense spending and the domestic defense sector, advocating for a shift in NATO’s focus towards the Arctic at a significant defense and security conference held in Ottawa on Wednesday.
Anand emphasized that Canada is on track to achieve spending levels of two percent of GDP this year and aims to reach five percent by 2035, aligning with NATO’s defense expenditure targets set by the alliance.
