Students have been evacuated at a high school following reports of a shooting. Multiple emergency services are at Wilmer Hutchins High School amid reports of “gunshots” being fired at the campus. Multiple videos show terrified students evacuating the building as police, fire engines and paramedics were all seen rushing to the scene.

The Dallas Fire Department requested a stage 2 Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) response following the shooting. Students and parents are being urged to stay away from the school as authorities investigate the incident. Injuries have been reported, according to local media. However, it is unclear how many have been injured at this time.

The Dallas Independent School District, who run Wilmer Hutchins High School, confirmed police are responding to the school shooting, which occurred just after 1pm local time.

It said on X: “Police are responding to a shooting incident at Wilmer-Hutchins High School. Safety protocols have been implemented, and we are asking everyone to refrain from coming to the campus. Reunification plans will be shared shortly.”

The school later added the campus is now secure as police conduct a thorough sweep to ensure safety. Students are being escorted to the nearby football stadium for reunification.
