A man from Corner Brook who allegedly shot another man at a residence last week has been refused bail. Scott King, aged 36, is facing several firearms-related charges following the incident on December 29, such as breaking and entering, causing bodily harm through assault, aggravated assault, making threats of death or bodily harm, and reckless use of a firearm, among other offenses.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary received a call to a residence on Parkwood Drive around 11:30 p.m. NT on December 29, where they discovered a man with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. The injured man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
During the court proceedings in Corner Brook, King, accompanied by supporters, visibly reacted with a heavy sigh upon hearing the decision. He positioned himself in a corner of the courtroom away from the press throughout most of the reading of the decision. King’s next court appearance is scheduled for January 13.
