WestJet Flight Makes Challenging Landing

A WestJet aircraft, operating a flight from Toronto, experienced a challenging landing at St. Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport, the airline announced on Sunday. The passengers and crew of WestJet flight 2276 were safely evacuated with the activation of the plane’s emergency slides and the deployment of foam by emergency responders as a precautionary measure. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from the incident.

WestJet stated that they are currently awaiting confirmation on the specific details of the event and are cooperating with local authorities. Their primary focus remains on ensuring the well-being and safety of both passengers and crew.

According to the airport’s social media update, there were 164 individuals on board the flight. The airport confirmed that the plane did not catch fire and reiterated the absence of injuries. However, as a precaution, three individuals underwent medical evaluation.
