A 35-year-old woman involved in a series of stabbing incidents in Vancouver’s Yaletown area last October has admitted guilt to all charges against her. Tamara Hamelin was apprehended on Oct. 10 following three individuals being hospitalized with non-life-threatening wounds. Additionally, four more victims, including another stabbing victim, a person who faced physical assault, and two unharmed individuals, came forward. The victims, comprising five men and two women aged 23 to 59, were assaulted near David Lam Park on the Yaletown segment of Vancouver’s seawall. Authorities described the attacks as violent and unprovoked at the time.
Hamelin was subsequently accused of four counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of assault. She acknowledged her guilt at Vancouver’s Downtown Community Court on Dec. 16 and remains detained, as confirmed by the B.C. Prosecution Service to CBC News. Court records indicate that Hamelin is scheduled for sentencing on March 31.
