Taylor Swift’s Music Removed from Trump’s Campaign Videos

Some Taylor Swift music has been taken down from social media videos shared by U.S. President Donald Trump’s campaign and the White House, which featured two of her songs in the past week.

Swift has not recently commented on Trump, although she did endorse his Democratic opponent, then Vice-President Kamala Harris, in 2024. During the 2020 election, Swift expressed her disapproval of Trump on social media.

Trump, in turn, has openly criticized Swift, particularly after she supported Harris. He has made derogatory remarks about Swift’s appearance following their public disagreements.

Various artists, including Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande, have requested that the Trump administration refrain from using their songs in any capacity.

The Trump campaign utilized two of Swift’s songs on their TikTok page over the last week. In one instance, they referenced Swift’s lyrics in a caption, titling it “Red (Donald Trump’s Version).”

This is not the first time the Trump administration has used Swift’s songs. They previously featured her music in videos promoting different events and initiatives.

The controversy surrounding the use of Swift’s music has sparked reactions on social media. The Trump administration has defended its choices, stating that the videos were strategically crafted to attract media attention.

Trump’s communication team frequently pairs popular songs with images related to various political actions and events, aiming to make a visual impact on social media platforms.
