Legendary rock band Rush has teased a special event at the upcoming 2026 Juno Awards in Hamilton. In a newsletter to fans, the band hinted at celebrating a unique moment with Geddy & Alex, providing a link to purchase Junos tickets for the event on March 29.
Last fall, Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson announced their 2026 tour, which will feature their new drummer, Anika Nilles. Nilles, known for her drumming skills showcased on a recent Jeff Beck tour, replaced the late Neil Peart, who passed away from brain cancer in 2020.
While details remain scarce, if Rush performs at the Junos, it will be the first time fans witness the current lineup in action before the upcoming Fifty Something tour, beginning in Los Angeles in June and including stops in Toronto, Vancouver, and Edmonton.
Since their formation in 1968 in Toronto, Rush has released 19 studio albums, numerous gold and platinum records, and a recent box set, Grace Under Pressure: Super Deluxe, featuring their iconic 1984 Maple Leaf Gardens concert. The band has a history of Juno wins, including the first-ever award for best hard rock/metal album in 1991 for Presto.
CBC Music has contacted the band for additional insights.
