The sad news was confirmed by family representative Eric Alper, who stated that Jordan passed away on Friday, surrounded by her loved ones. The cause of her death has not been disclosed.
Described in the statement as a unique and irreplaceable presence of light and joy, Jordan had a successful music career that spanned almost four decades. Her musical journey began with the release of her debut album “Tell Somebody” in 1988, which earned her the Juno Award for most promising female vocalist in 1989. Jordan’s second album, “Racine,” released in 1992, featured hits like “Make You a Believer.”
Throughout her career, Jordan received multiple Juno Award nominations for best female vocalist and also gained recognition as a judge on all six seasons of the reality TV show “Canadian Idol.” Geoff Kulawick, the former president of Stony Plain Records, praised Jordan as a courageous and striking artist.
