“Nick Reiner Pleads Not Guilty to Parents’ Murder”

Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of renowned Hollywood figure Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, formally denied the allegations of fatally stabbing his parents by pleading not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder. The plea was entered on his behalf by his new attorney, Kimberly Greene, in a crowded Los Angeles courtroom.

Nick Reiner, one of Rob Reiner’s four children, has been in custody without bail since his arrest following the tragic discovery of his parents’ bodies on December 14 in their Brentwood home. During the court appearance, Reiner, with a shaved head and light facial hair, was seen communicating with his lawyer through the glass before the proceedings commenced. The judge scheduled a preliminary hearing for April 29, where evidence will be presented to determine if the case will proceed to trial.

The decision on seeking the death penalty for Reiner is still pending, as confirmed by District Attorney Nathan Hochman. Despite the drama surrounding the case, including a change in defense lawyers, Reiner’s plea of not guilty is a standard procedure at this stage. His previous attorney, Alan Jackson, had to withdraw from the case due to undisclosed circumstances.

Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner tragically lost their lives to “multiple sharp force injuries,” according to the initial findings by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. The investigation into the case is ongoing, with motives remaining undisclosed to the public. Rob Reiner, known for his iconic films such as “This is Spinal Tap” and “When Harry Met Sally…,” shared a 36-year marriage with Michele Singer after meeting her during the production of one of his films.
