Kristýna Kaltounková opened the scoring early in the game, with Savannah Norcross sealing the victory with a late goal, while Kayle Osborne secured a shutout as the New York Sirens triumphed over the Vancouver Goldeneyes with a 2-0 win. Kaltounková extended her scoring streak to three games and netted her fourth goal of the season just 1:21 into the first period, giving New York the lead. Assisted by rookie Anna Bargman, Kaltounková beat Vancouver’s goalie, Emerance Maschmeyer, with a shot to the glove side.
In the third period, New York’s fourth line extended the lead to 2-0 when Norcross, a second-year forward, scored her first career goal at 4:39, with Emmy Fecteau and Kayla Vespa providing their first assists of the season.
Osborne, who has started every game this season, recorded 27 saves for the Sirens, earning her second shutout of the season and her first since the season opener against Ottawa. Last season, as a rookie, Osborne had one shutout against Ottawa in eight starts and 10 appearances.
Maschmeyer made 24 saves for the Goldeneyes, who are still seeking their first win on the road this season. New York failed to convert on all five power play opportunities, while Vancouver was unsuccessful on all four of their power plays, making it eight straight missed opportunities with an extra skater for the Goldeneyes.
