Provincial authorities are once again seeking public assistance in the case involving Elnaz Hajtamiri, as it marks its fourth anniversary since the Ontario resident was kidnapped and subsequently vanished without a trace.
Hajtamiri, aged 37 at the time, was forcefully taken by three individuals from a residence on Trailwood Place in Wasaga Beach on January 12, 2022. Despite the arrest of multiple suspects and a prior assault on Hajtamiri, she remains missing and is presumed deceased.
Scheduled for later this year, the trial of her former partner for first-degree murder is pending. The Ontario Provincial Police have disclosed that their ongoing inquiry into Hajtamiri’s abduction has uncovered potential connections to Timmins, the Greater Toronto Area, Quebec, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates. While specifics are not disclosed, authorities urge individuals with relevant information from these regions to come forward.
A $100,000 reward remains available for any details leading to Hajtamiri’s location. Detective Inspector Steven Martell of the OPP emphasized the belief that crucial information exists within the public domain to aid the investigation. Martell underscored the enduring anguish endured by Elnaz’s family and friends due to her absence, reaffirming their commitment to uncover the truth they seek.
