“Jenner’s Double Leads Charge to 5-2 Win Over Frost”

Brianne Jenner netted two goals to propel the Ottawa Charge to a 5-2 triumph over the Minnesota Frost during Saturday’s game. This victory marked the Charge’s second regulation win of the season, extending their winning streak to four consecutive games.

In addition to Jenner’s goals, Emily Clark, Sarah Wozniewicz, and Kateřina Mrázová also found the back of the net for Ottawa, while Gwyneth Philips made 24 saves in goal. Jenner sealed the victory with an empty-net goal with 2:44 left on the clock.

On the opposing side, Kelly Pannek and Britta Curl-Salemme scored for the Frost, with Maddie Rooney making 17 saves in the losing effort.

The Charge took an early lead in the first period with Jenner’s backdoor tap-in goal. The Frost responded with a power-play goal early in the second period, but Ottawa surged ahead with three goals in quick succession later in the period.

Clark showcased her skills with a remarkable goal on an end-to-end rush, followed by goals from Wozniewicz and Mrazova. The Frost managed to score again late in the period, closing the gap to two goals.

A notable takeaway from the game was Ottawa’s confidence and offensive aggression, while Minnesota struggled to contain the Charge’s speed and defensive presence.

Emily Clark’s goal marked her first point of the season, and Philips’ crucial saves on Minnesota’s Dominique Petrie in the third period were pivotal in maintaining Ottawa’s lead.

Looking ahead, the Charge will face the Vancouver Goldeneyes next, while the Frost will take on the Montreal Victoire in their upcoming game.
