Earlier today, temperatures in Edmonton and nearby areas reached 6 degrees Celsius. According to Environment Canada, a rapid decline in temperatures is anticipated. The forecast for Edmonton indicates a drop to approximately -16 degrees Celsius, with snowfall expected to commence late Monday night, accompanied by a potential risk of freezing rain.
Residents in Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Red Deer, and other impacted areas are advised by Environment Canada to exercise additional caution while traveling. A cautionary statement issued around 8 p.m. highlights the likelihood of quickly forming icy surfaces that may pose challenges for pedestrians and drivers.
