Canadian mogul skier Mikaël Kingsbury is set to compete at the upcoming Milano-Cortina Winter Games aiming to secure two medals as part of Canada’s freestyle skiing squad.

The roster of 25 athletes was unveiled in a joint announcement by Freestyle Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee earlier this week.

Hailing from Deux-Montagnes, Quebec, Kingsbury clinched gold in men’s moguls at the 2018 Pyeongchang Games, along with silver medals at the 2014 Sochi Olympics and the 2022 Beijing Games.

The most successful athlete in World Cup history will have a twin opportunity to make it to the podium in Italy with the introduction of dual moguls as a new event at the Olympics next month.

Kingsbury is fresh off a successful season on the World Cup circuit, where he celebrated his 100th career win on home turf in Val Saint-Come, Quebec.

Other returning Olympic medalists include Cassie Sharpe (gold, silver) and Rachael Karker (bronze) in halfpipe, as well as Lewis Irving, Marion Thenault, and Miha Fontaine (bronze) in mixed team aerials.

“It’s a privilege for me to represent Canada at the Olympic Games for the fourth time in my career,” Kingsbury expressed in a statement. “Wearing my nation’s colors has always been an honor, and this year’s Games will hold a special place in my heart.

“For the first time in Olympic history, we will witness two events. Naturally, my goal is to grace the podium in both competitions. It would be a fantastic way to commemorate what may likely be my final Games.”

The freestyle competitions are scheduled throughout the Games, commencing on February 7 (Day 1).
