“Bad Bunny to Headline Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime”

Grammy-winning artist Bad Bunny is set to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show, showcasing his Latin trap and reggaeton style on the NFL’s grand stage next year. The NFL, in collaboration with Apple Music and Roc Nation, made the announcement during the halftime of the Green Bay Packers versus Dallas Cowboys game.

Expressing his excitement, Bad Bunny stated, “This is not just about me; it’s a tribute to those who paved the way for me. It’s a celebration of my people, culture, and heritage.” The Puerto Rican sensation’s selection for the halftime show comes on the heels of his successful Puerto Rico residency, which attracted over 500,000 fans this month. Additionally, he leads the nominations at the upcoming Latin Grammys.

Known for hits like “Un Verano Sin Ti,” Bad Bunny has become one of the most streamed artists globally. He is also scheduled to host Saturday Night Live on October 4. Roc Nation founder Jay-Z praised Bad Bunny’s contributions to Puerto Rico, calling him an inspiration and expressing honor in having him grace the Super Bowl stage.

Having won multiple Grammys and Latin Grammys, Bad Bunny is a prominent figure in Latin music and the entertainment industry. His diverse talents extend to film and fashion, with collaborations that have elevated his status as a cultural icon. The halftime show at Levi’s Stadium on February 8 will be co-executive produced by Roc Nation and Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins, with Hamish Hamilton directing the event.

NFL executives lauded Bad Bunny as a symbol of global energy and cultural richness in today’s music landscape. His ability to transcend genres, languages, and audiences makes him a fitting choice for the Super Bowl halftime show. Apple Music and Beats vice-president Oliver Schusser highlighted the impact of Bad Bunny’s music on popular culture, predicting an unforgettable show.

In the previous year, Kendrick Lamar and SZA delivered a memorable performance at the Super Bowl halftime show, setting a viewership record. As anticipation grows for Super Bowl LX, the announcement of Bad Bunny as the headliner follows speculation about the potential involvement of Taylor Swift, who has ties to the NFL through her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell remained tight-lipped on Swift’s rumored halftime show during a recent interview on NBC’s Today show.
