A horror plane crash has left three people dead after an aircraft plunged out of the sky and into a river last night, it has been confirmed.
A small airplane crashed into a river in eastern Nebraska, in the United States, authorities said. The aircraft was travelling along the Platte River and crashed into the water south of Fremont at 8:15 p.m., Sgt. Brie Frank of the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said during a news conference.
The bodies of three people were recovered, Frank confirmed. Authorities did not immediately release the identities of the deceased.
The sheriff’s office said the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will oversee the investigation near Fremont, located about 37 miles west of Omaha.
This latest aviation tragedy has followed a recent string of horrific plane and helicopter crashes in the US in recent months. A collision between an American Airlines passenger plane and an Army Black Hawk helicopter in Washington D.C. in January shocked the world.
67 people were left dead, including three military personnel on board the helicopter, after the aircrafts plunged into the freezing Potomac River after the collided. It was the deadliest incident involving an aircraft in the US since the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Just two days after the Washington D.C. horror, a small plane plummeted from the sky and turned into a fireball in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Seven people were killed when the medical jet, which was carrying a young girl who had just received “life-saving care”, crashed onto a busy road.
All people on board, including the girl, her mother and two doctors, died as well as another individual in a car near the crash site. This flight was scheduled to take the girl back to her home in Tijuana with her family, and it was set to make a stop in Missouri first.
Another plane crashed just last week in Texas, leaving at least one person dead. A jet plunge to the ground near Propwash Airport in Justin, around 40 miles north west of Dallas, on April 11.
Emergency services believe the jet plummeted after the pilot suddenly experienced an issue with the 2019 Sabrewing Lightsport aircraft and an investigation into the shocking incident was launched.
A day after the Texas disaster, one person was confirmed dead after an aircraft slammed into a muddy field in Copake, in the state of New York. The flight was bound for the Columbia County Airport before crashing.
