AEW Wrestler Pac Passes Away at 40

Benjamin Satterley, a prominent professional wrestler from England and a key figure in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) based in the United States, has passed away at the age of 40. The news of Satterley’s death, known in the ring as Pac, was announced by AEW on social media on Sunday evening.

The cause of death has not been disclosed. Satterley was seen competing on television the night before against Andrade el Idolo in Chicago. AEW praised Satterley for his captivating performances, innovative high-flying maneuvers, and exceptional in-ring skills. He held multiple AEW Championships and participated in some of the most memorable matches in AEW’s history. The company extended its condolences to Satterley’s family, friends, and fans.

Hailing from Newcastle, England, Satterley embarked on his wrestling journey in 2004 in the U.K. He gained recognition in independent wrestling circuits worldwide, including in Japan and Mexico, for his distinctive blend of acrobatic, high-flying moves and muscular physique.

Satterley’s wrestling career began at the age of 18 after being introduced to the sport by his aunt, a WWF fan. He competed in World Wrestling Entertainment from 2012 to 2018 under the alias Adrian Neville, making a mark in NXT and the cruiserweight division.

Joining AEW in 2019, Satterley engaged in matches with top AEW stars and secured various championships, notably becoming the inaugural international champion. His renowned finishing move, the black arrow, a twisting corkscrew dive from the top rope, earned him the moniker “The man that gravity forgot.”

Throughout the past decade, Satterley portrayed a menacing villain persona in the ring, often known as “The Bastard.” Despite his wrestling character, he occasionally displayed a comedic side. Tributes from fellow wrestlers and colleagues poured in following his passing, highlighting his talent, humility, and dedication to the sport.

Satterley, who maintained a private life outside of wrestling, received heartfelt messages from AEW CEO Tony Khan and other wrestling personalities, emphasizing his exceptional qualities and contributions to the industry. His demise marks the second loss of an AEW wrestler in recent weeks, following the death of Andy Williams, known as The Butcher, in September. Williams, also a musician for the band Every Time I Die, passed away after collapsing during a wrestling event.

In a rare social media post, Satterley shared a photo of himself with Williams in the locker room, reminiscing about their time together.
