Canadian actress Rachel McAdams was honored with a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame this week. The 47-year-old actress, surrounded by her family, partner, and colleagues, reminisced about her humble beginnings in St. Thomas, Ontario. She revealed that her journey began with a heartfelt letter to her parents, expressing her dream to appear on the TV talent show “Star Search” hosted by Ed McMahon.
McAdams, known for her iconic roles in films like “Mean Girls” and “The Notebook,” started her acting career at the Original Kids Theatre Company in London at the age of 12. Recently, she made her Broadway debut in “Mary Jane,” earning critical acclaim and prestigious awards.
During the induction ceremony, McAdams expressed her gratitude to her supporters and paid a touching tribute to her late co-star Diane Keaton. She credited Keaton for teaching her the importance of giving her all in every performance.
London actor and coach Jim Schaefer, who worked with McAdams in her early days, praised her dedication and talent, stating that it was well-deserved for her to be recognized with a star on the Walk of Fame. Director Sam Raimi and actor Domhnall Gleeson also commended McAdams for her exceptional acting skills.
McAdams is anticipated to star in Raimi’s upcoming film “Send Help” alongside Dylan O’Brien, scheduled for release on Jan. 30.
