Rebecca Leslie’s remarkable performance led the Ottawa Charge to a 4-2 victory over the Seattle Torrent in Ottawa on Wednesday evening. Leslie scored both the game-tying and game-winning goals, showcasing her talent on the ice.
The game marked the final night of PWHL action before the Olympic break, with several players from both teams set to participate in the Winter Games in Italy. Ottawa’s head coach, Carla MacLeod, is also part of the Olympic contingent as the head coach of Czechia.
In addition to Leslie’s heroics, Fanuza Kadirova and Emily Clark contributed goals for Ottawa, with Gwyneth Philips making 24 saves. On the other side, Hilary Knight and Jesse Eldridge found the back of the net for Seattle, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win. Corinne Schroeder made 26 saves for the Torrent.
The game saw back-and-forth action, with power-play opportunities for both teams. Hannah Bilka’s shot led to Knight’s opening goal for Seattle, but Ottawa fought back with goals from Kadirova, Leslie, and Clark to seal the victory.
Looking ahead, the Torrent will face the Toronto Sceptres on February 27, while the Charge will host the Boston Fleet on February 28 in their next matchups.
