“Fatal Crash Claims 3 Lives on Route 11 in New Brunswick”

Three individuals lost their lives in a crash involving a sedan and a transport truck on Thursday evening along Route 11 in the northern region of New Brunswick. The incident occurred near the Black Point vicinity, which is part of the Heron Bay community encompassing Dalhousie.

The car’s 25-year-old driver and two passengers, aged 18 and 27, were pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by the authorities. These individuals hailed from Moncton, Dalhousie, and Campbellton, but specific details regarding their relationships were not disclosed. The truck driver was treated at a hospital and subsequently discharged.

RCMP Sgt. Rejean Richard from the Campbellton detachment mentioned that the police, along with the Belledune Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick, promptly responded to the incident around 7 p.m. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, although initial reports suggest that the car veered across the center line, leading to a direct impact with the truck.

Richard noted that the road conditions were slightly wet but within the norm at the time of the accident. Following an 11-hour closure due to the crash, New Brunswick RCMP announced the reopening of Route 11 between Exit 357 and Exit 375 in Benjamin River.

While the RCMP continues its inquiry, the section of the highway affected by the tragic incident has since been made accessible again. Sgt. Richard expressed sorrow over the occurrence of fatal collisions, emphasizing the hope for reduced frequency of such unfortunate events in the future.
