Olivia Rodrigo Launches All-Women Festival, Daisy Chain Fields

Olivia Rodrigo draws inspiration from Lilith Fair by launching her own all-women festival named Daisy Chain Fields, reminiscent of the successful touring festival initiated by Sarah McLachlan three decades ago. The festival, set to take place on August 29 in Irvine, California, will showcase a lineup of talented female artists, including Chappell Roan, Doechii, Katseye, Mitski, the Breeders, Die Spitz, Bikini Kill, Eli, Garbage, Quiet Light, Rachel Chinouriri, and Not for Radio. Special guests such as McLachlan, Stevie Nicks, and Karen O are also expected to grace the event.

In a recent interview with Pitchfork, Rodrigo expressed her desire for the festival to promote kindness in the world and feature inclusive lineups, drawing parallels to the original Lilith Fair’s ethos. The singer, known for her hit “drop dead,” praised the ’90s female singer-songwriters as her inspirations. Olivia emphasized the festival’s core values of joy, community, and creativity driving meaningful change, with all net proceeds earmarked for charities supporting women and girls, including Planned Parenthood and Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health.

Rodrigo’s commitment to social causes is evident through her non-profit initiative, Fund 4 Good, launched in 2023, which backs organizations advocating for reproductive rights, girls’ education, and gender-based violence prevention. The pop-rock sensation’s Unraveled Tour will also contribute a portion of its proceeds to this fund. Fans can already access presale tickets, with general admission prices starting at $250 US.

Coming off the success of her latest album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” which secured her third consecutive No. 1 on the Billboard charts, Rodrigo continues to make waves in the music industry with her philanthropic efforts and empowering initiatives.
