Oasis fans have all been thrilled about the same detail of a newly unveiled tour poster. The Gallagher brothers are setting the stage for a much-anticipated return to the spotlight with a tour running from July 4 until November 23 this year, kicking off their comeback tour in Cardiff, Wales.
Noel and Liam Gallagher are lined up to give a string of fully-booked performances around the world. Fans expressed their astonishment over the time it took to reveal the ultimate tour poster but were quick to point out an update they were thrilled by. Although tickets for most of the concerts have been snapped up, there’s still a glimmer of hope among some hopefuls to score a spot at the Oasis reunion, marking the ensemble’s first collective bow since 2009.
An upload on the r/Oasis subreddit has seen supporters heap praise on the fresh poster design, noting a nod to a previous tour poster that dates back almost three decades.
The post, adorned with the tour poster, states: “Surprised it took this long, they were probably waiting for the newest Australia night to sell out so it could say ‘sold out’ on the poster. This shot is also so much better than the initial black and white one.”
The new snapshot shows off the Gallagher siblings positioned atop the Oasis emblem with a rundown of the sell-out performances brings a fresh look.
Lovers of the band have since drawn parallels between the original poster and another pamphlet that once advertised the band’s Be Here Now tour.
Although the brothers have switched spots compared with the 1997 photo, there’s no denying the two images are largely similar. One fan posted: “Almost certainly a call back to this as well.”
Another added: “I wonder why they’ve swapped them in all the new photos. The always used to stand the other way around lol. Maybe some kind of way of implying things have changed and they understand each others pov now.”
Devotees are desperate to snag a copy of the group’s latest poster and are suggesting the merchandise gets sold at gigs, with a fan joking: “Biblical. I’m expecting this to be sold at shows as a poster for a ridiculous price lmao.”
There’s also confusion over the lack of additional concerts despite the current ones selling out fast. One user wrote: “It’s shocking how few shows they’re playing when every one is sold out. I wonder what the plan is when this tour wraps.”
Those still keen to catch the act live might consider heading down under, as tickets remain up for grabs for their November 4 show at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, priced around £130 for those who fancy the standing section.
The ticketing controversy that hit the band during the UK and Ireland sales hasn’t been forgotten either; dynamic pricing saw some ticket costs catapult from £148 to an eye-watering £355.
