Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen and his fellow Artemis II crew members were warmly welcomed at the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) headquarters following their recent expedition to the far side of the moon. Addressing a jubilant audience in Longueuil, Quebec, Hansen expressed gratitude to those who played a pivotal role in the mission’s success.
The 10-day journey took Hansen, mission leader Reid Wiseman, and astronauts Victor Glover and Christina Koch further from Earth than any previous human exploration. Koch highlighted that both she and Glover had undergone training in Canada, emphasizing the CSA’s significance to them.
During a session with Industry Minister Mélanie Joly and the public, the crew, along with Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jenni Gibbons from NASA’s Mission Control Center, fielded inquiries. Wiseman underscored the diverse perspectives brought by the international composition of the Artemis II team, emphasizing how it enhanced the mission and fostered global unity.
