The weather alert warns that roads and walkways are likely to become icy and slippery, with surfaces potentially difficult to identify. Moreover, there is a possibility of local utility outages and an increased risk of slips and falls.
Halton Student Transportation Services announced the cancellation of school buses for the day, although schools will remain open. In Brantford, the morning wind chill could make it feel like -9°C, while Hamilton might experience a sensation of -8°C.
Temperatures in the Niagara Region are projected to drop from a daytime high of 4°C to a nighttime low of 0°C, with rain expected to cease by midnight. Similarly, Brantford and Hamilton are anticipated to have periods of rain in the evening, with temperatures dropping to as low as 1°C, accompanied by clouds and a possibility of flurries or rain showers.
