The annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show has commenced, with more than 3,000 dogs from across the globe converging in New York City to partake in various contests. The prestigious best in show accolade, claimed by Monty the giant schnauzer last February, will conclude the multi-day event at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday. In the interim, witness the excitement at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan, where dogs are competing in masters agility, flyball, and more.
Amber McCune, alongside Prove-It the border collie, showcased their skills in the masters agility competition on Saturday. A rival dog also participated in the agility contest, captivating the audience. Spectators observed the agility competition with enthusiasm as the dogs demonstrated their abilities.
During a photo opportunity, McCune, Prove-It, Dr. Donald Sturz, the chair of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, and others posed for the camera to celebrate the masters agility championship. In other events, bulldogs were presented in the judging area for breed evaluation, while a Bergamasco sheepdog impressed during its judging session. Additionally, a dog sprinted during the flyball competition, showcasing its speed and agility.
Behind the scenes, grooming activities were in full swing as Pie, a Shih Tzu from Monclova, Ohio, received grooming care, and a standard poodle named Dylan had his feet trimmed in a designated grooming area. Attendees and dogs were also seen in the benching area, preparing for their upcoming appearances at the show.
