Canadians have received multiple nominations for the Actor Awards, SAG-AFTRA’s yearly recognition of outstanding performances in Hollywood films and TV/streaming shows. The nominations were unveiled by actors Connor Storrie from “Heated Rivalry” and Janelle James from “Abbott Elementary.” Notably, Seth Rogen and Catherine O’Hara are contenders for exceptional leading performances in Apple TV’s “The Studio,” a series created by Vancouver-native Rogen. Martin Short is also nominated in the leading actor category for his role in Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building.”
Both “The Studio” and “Only Murders in the Building” are in the running for outstanding ensemble performances in a comedy series. The awards ceremony is scheduled to be streamed live on Netflix from Los Angeles on March 1.

The series has received nominations for lead actor and actress, as well as outstanding ensemble in a comedy series. Another series, “The White Lotus,” gathered the most nominations in the drama category.
With over 122,000 voting members, SAG-AFTRA tends to favor popular choices, sometimes overlooking non-English-language nominees like the Brazilian film “The Secret Agent.” The awards aim to recognize excellence in the entertainment industry and are highly anticipated by fans and industry professionals alike.
