“Elderly Man’s Shooting Spree in Cornwall: Intimate Partner Violence Tragedy”

Cornwall Police have revealed that the recent shooting incident over the weekend, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and severe injury to another, was identified as a case of intimate partner violence. The perpetrator, an 81-year-old man, fatally shot his former partner, aged 80, and her 83-year-old male companion before taking his own life, as stated in a police update released on Monday evening. The male companion succumbed to his injuries, while the woman remains under medical care for severe wounds.

Chief of Police Shawna Spowart expressed deep sorrow over the situation, extending thoughts and condolences to the affected families and friends during this challenging period. Authorities were alerted to the incident at a residence on Leitch Drive’s 400-block on Saturday afternoon, where the distressing scene was discovered. Following investigations, it was confirmed as a case of intimate partner violence, with the police assuring that there is no ongoing threat to public safety. No additional details will be disclosed, as confirmed by law enforcement.
