Canadian freestyle skier Marion Thénault clinched a silver medal at a World Cup aerials event held on home soil. Thénault secured the second spot in the women’s competition with an impressive score of 81.78 points. The event was dominated by American Winter Vinecki, who achieved a top score of 93.58, while Emma Weiss from Germany secured the third position with 79.33 points.
Hailing from Sherbrooke, located approximately 250 kilometers south of Lac-Beauport, Thénault celebrated her fourth medal of the World Cup season, comprising two silver and two bronze accolades. Notably, she was the sole Canadian athlete to advance to the women’s final round. In the men’s competition, Ukraine’s Dmytro Kotovskyi claimed the gold medal, followed by Sun Jiaxu from China and Quinn Dehlinger from the United States. The highest-ranking Canadian in the men’s event was Miha Fontaine, finishing in eighth place.
