British actor Warwick Davis, famed for his roles in Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Willow, was bequeathed more than £500,000 by his wife Samantha after her passing.
The actress tragically passed away in March last year at the tender age of 53, and it was confirmed this month that she died as a result of a cardiac arrest following complications of essential surgery. The pair had been a couple for more than three decades when Samantha’s life was sadly cut short.
Their love story began on the set of Disney+ period fantasy Willow when Warwick was just 17 years old. Samantha, affectionately known as Sammy, was not only Warwick’s lifelong companion but also his biggest cheerleader, reports the Express.
Legal documents obtained by The Sun reveal that Samantha left an estate valued at £536,830, with Warwick named as the sole trustee. Her will, initially drafted in 1998, remained unaltered throughout her lifetime.
According to the publication in 2024, his reported net worth was £8 million. The star makes his money through his acting roles, a popular quiz show called Tenable, and his talent agency.
The duo tied the knot in 1991 and made their home near Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. Over the course of their marriage, they welcomed three children: Annabelle, 28, Harrison, 22, and Lloyd, who tragically passed away at just nine days old due to health complications associated with his parents’ conditions.
Warwick has spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita, while Samantha lived with achondroplasia. Their genetic disorders, both resulting in dwarfism, presented unique challenges in their family life.
In addition to mourning Lloyd, the couple also endured the loss of another baby boy 19 weeks into Samantha’s pregnancy. Warwick and Samantha devoted their lives to supporting others facing similar conditions.
In 2012, the duo established Little People UK, a charity dedicated to supporting individuals with dwarfism and drumming up funds for their cause. The pair have been pillars of support for countless families, shining a light on conditions that Warwick once likened to enduring “the worst flu you’ve had, every day.”
Samantha had braved serious health challenges, particularly after suffering from sepsis in 2018 which took a toll on her mobility. Through it all, she shared an unbreakable connection with Warwick, who fondly reminisces about their union, stating: “She was my most trusted confidante and an ardent supporter of everything I did in my career.”
Warwick’s moving homage to his late wife celebrated her compassion and dedication, hailing her as a “passionate” champion for the disadvantaged. Heaping further praise, he noted: “She had time for everyone and a genuine listening ear,” reflecting on her innate ability to care for others.
