A man has been arrested after witnesses caught him “slashing a teenage girl in the face while on top of her” in a horror incident outside a school.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Alec Reed Academy in Northolt, west London where fighting is said to have broken out on Wednesday evening. Witnesses to the incident claimed an attacker slashed a 17-year-old girl with a “sharp implement”, before being chased by two men who had been in their cars. He was then reportedly “herded” to the school gate as police arrived.

One of the men, a father of four, told the Standard : “I was shocked by what I was seeing.

“He was mounted on top of her and slashing. I didn’t want to get stabbed, but we herded him into the school gate. I’d do what any other person would do.”

The girl was rushed to hospital by ambulance crews and treated for injuries to her face, which thankfully were not life-threatening, in the aftermath of the shocking incident.

The Met Police confirmed in a statement: “Police were called at approximately 8.15pm on Wednesday, April 16 to reports of a stabbing in Godfrey Avenue, Northolt.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a girl suffering a cut to the head; she was taken to hospital – her injury is not life threatening.

“A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH and remains in custody.

“A crime scene was put in place while the incident was dealt with. Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting CAD 6857/16Apr, or contact police via X.

A London Ambulance Service spokesman added: “We were called at 8.14pm to reports of a stabbing near Godfrey Avenue, UB5.

“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and a member of our tactical response unit.

“We treated a teenager at the scene and took her to a hospital.”
